Meeting Code of Conduct

Please report unprofessional or disrespectful conduct to a committee member in person, or by email to adjoint.workshop at gmail.com. Committee members will be wearing specially designated nametags.

The Workshop aims to foster a safe, inclusive environment for all attendees for the open exchange of ideas without fear of harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or bullying of any kind. All communication should be professional and respectful of people with many different backgrounds and people’s identities and cultures should be treated with respect, including while under the effects of alcohol or other legal intoxicants.

Make an effort to correctly pronounce names and use preferred pronouns. Do not dominate discussions and listen to others as a consideration of all participants, showing a respect for differing perspectives and welcoming of a diversity of individuals and ideas. Obtain permission before copying or using presented materials or ideas. Respect and follow the rules of the meeting venue.

Mistreatment based on race, religion, color, sex (including gender identity), national origin, age, disability genetic information, sexual orientation, parental status (including pregnancy and nursing), marital status, or political affiliation is forbidden. Mistreatment includes any criminal activity, harassment, or discrimination, stalking, sustained disruption of presentations, or any inappropriate or unwelcome physical or sexual contact. Anyone requested to cease unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately and failure to do so may result in being asked to leave the meeting without refund. Retaliation against persons who file a complaint will not be tolerated.

This statement applies to all meeting associated events including the scientific program, receptions, informal and formal gatherings, and online spaces. If you are the subject of unacceptable behavior or have witnessed such behavior, please immediately notify a committee member in person, or by email adjoint.workshop at gmail.com.

The Workshop strives to be fully accessible to all attendees. If you have questions, concerns, or would like to make a request for accommodations, please contact us.
